Are you a teaching professional interested in a 2 - 4 week training placement in a Ghanaian School?
Through an equitable platform where teachers get the chance to offer an area of interest or expertise to share with teaching colleagues, followed by a placement in a Ghanaian school, Teachers Beyond Borders facilitates a wonderful opportunity to travel to Africa. You can make a huge difference to a teacher's life by sharing the challenges of effective practice and helping children to become literate global citizens.
What is involved?
- Contact TBB via the contact page, telling us about yourself and what age range you work with and your subject/area of interest. Please include details if you are a special school teacher. Also if
you a teaching assistant, a therapist or a teacher.
- Teacher Beyond Borders provides:
- An orientation day, including a Toolkit to help you meet some of the challenges of the Ghanaian classroom, plus lots of advice and support about how to prepare yourself before you go.
- You will be met at Kotoka Airport, Accra, and taken to a local residence, where you will be hosted by TBB.
- Week One: A Training and sharing week will be set up for you to meet Ghanaian teaching professionals and share ideas.
- Week Two: A week's placement in a Ghanaian school, ideally with one of the colleagues that you have been training with.
- Longer placements can be organised with the host school.
- THERE IS AN OPTIONAL TOUR ON THE WEEKEND TO GHANA'S AMAZING HISTORIC AND CULTURAL PLACES/EVENTS.
