Teachers Beyond Borders is a not-for-profit organisation working between Ghana and the UK, to create equitable platforms for education professionals to share inclusive, child centred practice. We do this through our training & development projects, by offering volunteer opportunities to teachers and therapists and by supporting Global School Partnerships between Ghana and the UK.
Teacher Training, Skill Exchanging
A new training venture - The Fielmuo Project
After six months correspondence with Lenny Baer of Nemoro primary school in Fielmuo, a village in the Upper-West region of Ghana, a new training venture is underway.
TBB were approached in February of this year by Lenny Baer who has worked with the Vibrant Village Foundation in Fielmuo - an extremely remote village - for the last three years. They are working to make Nemoro Primary School into a 'model school'. With over 900 KG and primary children, Lenny's goal is for at least half of these children to be able to pass the BECE on completion of junior high. Further to this he is eager for as many girls as boys to pass the test, which is uncommon in Ghana. We are now waiting to receive funding to travel to Fielmuo on a first visit this November/December before initiating a teacher-training program which will be led by Judy Lawson, who is driving this project.
We'll keep you posted!
